Did you know..........

No one really know why we have candles on birthday cakes? It is a fact lost in history, but some think it is because the ancient Greeks use to make round cakes in honor of the full moon and take use them in worship of their goddess Artemis. She was the goddess of the moon. It is said the Greeks placed candles around the cake to resemble a glowing full moon. Do you suppose they sang a song when they did this!

Manufacturer surveys show that 90% of all candles are purchased by women.

Votives, container candles and pillars are currently the most popular types of candles

It is estimated that more than 10,000 different candle scents are available

Approximately 35% of candle sales occur during the Christmas/Holiday season. Non-seasonal business accounts for approximately 65% of candle sales.

Fragrance is by far the most important characteristic impacting candle purchases today, with three-fourths of candle buyers saying it is “extremely important" or "very important" in their selection of a candle.

Approximately three-fourths of candle users say they typically burn candles for 4 hours or less per sitting.

Candle users say they most frequently burn candles in the living room (42%), followed by the kitchen (18%) and the bedroom (13%).

Both men and women consider candles to be an always-acceptable and highly appreciated gift for a wide variety of occasions.

Approximately one in five women say they use candles to decorate the yard, patio or other exterior areas, as well as the interior of their home.
Candles generally can be categorized into 11 basic types: tapers, votives, pillars, container(or jar) candles, tealights, liturgical candles, outdoor candles, floating candles, novelty candles, utility candles, and birthday candles.

Customer service

I have learnt a very valuable lesson that we all need to learn again. Good Customer service really does go a long way.

I was at restaurant with a group of friends really enjoying the atmosphere, being a bit loud but having loads of fun. Our waitress was giving us the most beautiful service anyone could ask, she was also enjoying, being able to assist us in anyway, even though we were loud and having a joke many times.
We really enjoyed her time with us, that it was obvious that she was looking after us really well. It put a smile on all of our faces to see that, good quality service was an alive and well. Not the usual “yes, I am serving you because you are here, but really being respected, and making us really enjoy our dining experience.”
If we could receive that type of service all over the world what a better place it would be.

One our next day of the weekend, we went to Mc’s for breakfast on the run. While the service was ok, 10 people waiting in line and 4 staff at the checkout but only one doing anything was a bit frustrating. Then we went to purchase some items for the road and found out it was out of Time (date). One of my daughters had already eating one at breakfast, so I went to talk to the manager. He was very polite and said he was sorry & we received our refund, but at no time did he bother about my daughter. Even though she did not get sick on the way home, the fact that he did not seemed concerned that the apple pie had been in the pie warmer for the past 2 days. The level of service by big companies that should know better is not always better. I would go back to our little restaurant and receive fantastic service any day.

I hope to take a leaf out of our waitress’s book and create customer service; our customers would love from the beginning to the end. The little touches do go a long way. Thank you

Love

Love, it comes in all shapes & forms. You love your partners, children, family, friends, work collegues, inspirational people that enter your life everyday. When you go through your day today, look at all of the little contacts you make today and give appreciation for that person being in your life. It may be a smile, a wave, thank you from someone, a a great job done for you, someone gave you are car park, a telephone call, just to catch up. An invitation to go to lunch, dinner or just coffee. Say yes and if you can't go on that day make a plan to meet and stick to it. We all know that life get very busy, but as the world is showing us now we need to smell the roses and love one another every moment of the day.
Thank you for your time on spreading the love today.

Teenagers and Aromatherapy

Adolescence is not any easy time for anyone involved, Teens, parents, siblings, teachers and peers. Physical, psychological and emotional changes are riff in the bodies of teenagers. Everything is so exaggerated and out of proportion.
With the expectations from peers, family and the community, it can be very taxing on anyone let alone a teen with little experience, knowledge and life skills. We as the adults are light beacons in all the darkness and need to help or guide, be a magician to figure out what will work and what won’t. This may only happen once and then we will need to find another way together.
Teen’s emotional and physical demands of the body can be: fatigue, sleeplessness, depression, anxiety, skin problems and weight. Which affects each teen different and at different levels. Aromatherapy can help with respite for teens and parents.
The use of Aromatherapy on a daily basis will help you stayed balanced, gain more insight, open yourself to trust between everyone you meet, communicate your feelings and put life in perspective in a compassionate and calm manner.

Did you know that Valentine's Day is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions.
So why not celebrate each month, with you loved one, doing something new and creative. Here are some ideas.

Poem:
The rose is red, the violet's blue
The honey's sweet, and so are you
Thou are my love and I am thine
I drew thee to my Valentine
The lot was cast and then I drew
And Fortune said it shou'd be you.

Do something creative for your loved one today.
Smile more, give a hug or kiss unexpected, leave a notes, card, small gifts, arrange to go out to dinner, have an indoor picnic or flowers for no, other reason than: I do this because, I love you. Share you thoughts and feelings with each other & keep the communication going always, be open to talk about anything. You maybe surprised at the results :)
Enjoy, smile & say thanks everyday

Outback Aromas Feedback

This is a wonderful email we recieved today:

Outback Aroma’s provide a quality and unique product. We use the Candles in our office, and we also purchase them as gifts for clients. No one else offers the rate of service that Tracy offers and her products are one of a kind in that they are environmentally friendly and delicate to the nose because there is nothing smoky about them. Plus she has fragrances with gorgeous sounding names and secret ingredients that tease the senses and never fail to elicit a response from visitors to our office.
The fact that we can personalise the candles to our needs is fantastic and we use it to purchase clients gifts, as they are more personal and our clients appreciate the consideration that we have put into purchasing a special gift just for them.
Personally I love Tracy’s Candles and also have them scattered around my house. We also use her lovely soaps, and I can even get my son to use them, as he gets to pick his own “aroma” and colour.

Thank you Tracy for your service.

Outback Aromas - Angel Kisses Review

When the Outback Aromas box arrived, I could smell the delicious contents before I even opened it. Their scents are divine!

They specialise in soy candles and melts. I found on their site, they also sell soap and body butter.

Angel Kisses is Outback Aromas lavender plus special secret ingredients scent. Before the Angel Kisses candle was lit this delicious candle had our home filled with its scent.

The 60 hour candle that we tried had not melted completely to the sides of the glass after 1 hour, so I can see that this candle would definitely last the promised 60 hours.

With names like Butterfly Hugs, Tranquil Dawn, Peaches and Cream, Melon Crush, Sandalwood Moments and Angel Kisses (to name a few), I’m left wondering …what are the Outback Aromas secret ingredients?

I have to admit, I did have a little trouble navigating my way around the Outback Aromas site, but after trying their candles and melts, it’s a worthwhile tour to take. They do have very clear ‘contact us’ instructions if you can’t find what you are looking for.

I love soy candles. Here is some great information straight from the Outback Aromas site…

“Soy is an environmentally friendly alternative to paraffin wax. Soy is biodegradable and a renewable natural resource. Paraffin, on the other hand, is made from petroleum. How healthy is that? Soy candles last longer and distribute more fragrance. Soy tends to burn up to 50% longer than other paraffin waxes. Because soy has a lower temperature melting point, candles will burn cooler while distributing fragrance much quicker. Soy candles produce up to 90% less soot than traditional paraffin candles.”

Candle tip: always remember to trim the wick down to 5 mm between each candle burning session. If the candle begins to smoke, blow it out and trim the wick. If it’s smoking, chances are it’ll burn too fast.
